Android Tablet PC

Google Inc. bought Android Inc. in 2005 but it wasn't until 2 years later, with the creation of the Open Handset Alliance, that this operating system moved on full throttle to the glory that it experiences now. Since then, we have seen many updates with OS for use on mobile phones. And recently, with the introduction of the Android tablet PC, it's looking like this operating system will be here with us on every new awesome gadget that is developed!

The first Android version to be used in tablet computers is the Froyo (2.2). The most popular Froyo tablet out in the market today is the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Even though this version was not considered fit for a tablet device, it worked perfectly because it was faster and had Adobe Flash support.

Half a year after the release of the Froyo, an update was made. This time, the version was called Gingerbread. As with all Android updates, Gingerbread was faster and made for a better touchscreen experience. It proved compatible with large screens (i.e. tablet computers), had more intuitive text input, and support for more sensors. One tablet that uses this OS version is the HTC Flyer, a 7-inch tablet with impressive features.

But only a couple of months after Gingerbread saw the light of day, Honeycomb was released. This one is tablet-oriented and is a perfect operating system for a tablet computer. Right now, Android tablet PC that run on this impressive OS are the Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Asus Eee Pad MeMo, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, and the LG Optimus Pad.
